I'm a big fan of iranian food and have been to lots of persian restaurants across London. Alounak has to be one of the worst I have visited. Food quality very poor, price very high and service terrible. Better you go to Mohsen down the road or Persian Palace in Ealing. To make things worse, they refused to remove service charge from bill even though service was terrible with food cold. Overall very bad experience

Worst experience of Iranian food ever. None of the staff were wearing masks when we arrived (only putting it on once they got more customers) and the waitress was talking loudy on the phone, not paying attention to serving us. There was no telling if the tables were wiped down properly. The menu was severely limited to just kebab combinations, would liked to have seen more traditional Persian curries. The one non-kebab option on the menu was not available that day. I had to go with the vegetarian mezze- wrong choice, it was absolutely DRENCHED in oil, to the point where flavour was compromised, all I could taste is oil. The kebab was similar, no extra effort to make it tasty it was just cooked ordinarily. Also the bill turned out to be more expensive than we thought despite Eat Out Help Out. The only great thing was the tandoor baked bread and general atmosphere. The staff and management really need to get their act together if they want to remain open.
