Rude !!! Or should I just say they ignore .
Never do they ever say thank you at the till, they just take your money and ignore you.
Been going here since it opened several years ago and then it was solely ran by the bearded owner who was polite in the early days . He got my custom in those days as he was new to the high street and I wanted him to achieve cas he worked such long hours and was always nice.. In them days you were greeted by friendly staff that said thank you when giving you the change and smiled.
None of the staff including owner ever say thank you now. The only word that is spoken is “next customer”.
Occasionally the older man, probably the father, who used to serve the meat yrs ago serves me- he is sweet and actually does thank me when giving change despite his lack of English which I appreciate greatly .. thank you.
Went today and a lady in a head scarf in her usual way says “next customer” before the previous one has had a chance to gather their shopping then she abruptly states price and that’s the end of what is spoken apart from me thanking her lol
Really annoying. Never a thank you. Happens everyday.
I remember Finchley as a bustling high street , old fashion politeness from shop keepers was the norm!
Apologies for being brutal but staff in local independents shops need to be taught old fashion values to retain our community spirit.
If I ever get treated like a normal customer rather than an annoyance, then I will leave a positive update. Will keep you all posted guys !
